ONVIF and the benefits of open standards in physical security

The first composite fire door range with independent third-party certification by CERTIFIRE the doors comply with Part B of the Building Regulations and protect responsible persons from the risk of prosecution.

The Door-Stop fire door range has been both fire and smoke tested for up to 30 minutes (FD30s) by Warrington Exova and independently assessed by CERTIFIRE.

Certification by CERTIFIRE assures installers and building managers alike of a fire protection product’s performance, quality, reliability and traceability.

The doors have also been designed according to the principles of Secured by Design – an “official UK Police flagship initiative combining the principles of ‘designing out crime’ with physical security” – and comply with the PAS023/024 security accreditation.

A wide range of apertures and colours are available, with 15 different door styles across 11 colours – including standard shades such as blue, black and green and more contemporary hues like vintage chartwell, soft duck egg blue and bright poppy red. “Choosing a product that carries the mark of a reputable third-party certification body gives reassurance as to the performance of the products,” says Martin Dickie, business development director at Door-Stop. “With our Certifire certification, a Door-Stop fire door, correctly installed, provides a powerful demonstration that due diligences have been served.

“The third-party certification also monitors the manufacturing and fire compliance of the components being used, so the building owner takes on the least risk, since the door specified has been underwritten by the third party certification body.”
